Induction Program 2023-24 for BBA/BHM 1st Semester Students

The Induction program for BBA/BHM first-year students was to provide a seamless and informative transition for students entering their academic journey. It introduced students to the structure, curriculum, and expectations of the program. Familiarized students with the college/university facilities, administrative procedures, support services, academic expectations, attendance policies, grading systems, and assessment methods. It engaged students in ice-breaking activities to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere. Introduced students to potential career paths associated with their chosen field and showcased available extracurricular activities, clubs, and events to encourage student participation.

The first day of the BBA/BHM Induction Session at Shubhashree College of Management was marked by enlightening sessions delivered by our esteemed Principal, Ms. Manita Oli, who welcomed the first-year students with warmth and enthusiasm and highlighted the significance of holistic development, encompassing not only academics but also extracurricular activities and personal growth. Mr. Tarun Pratap Sah, the Managing Director of Shubhashree College of Management shared valuable insights and personal anecdotes, focusing on the inevitability of challenges in any journey and shared strategies for overcoming them. He emphasized the importance of networking and utilizing resources for personal and professional growth. Mr. Ananta Ghimire, Corporate Trainer, and Motivational Speaker, delivered an engaging session on “Management Skills,” covering significance of effective communication in management. He addressed the importance of time management in achieving personal and professional goals. 

The second day of the induction Session continued with an insightful guest session on “Mindfulness” by Mr. Arun Poudel. This session aimed to introduce students to the concept of mindfulness and its relevance in personal and professional development. He explained how mindfulness can positively impact academic performance and professional success and the session was followed by crucial session led by Mr. Dipesh Lamichhane, the BBA Department Coordinator. This session aimed to provide students with an understanding of the BBA program, academic expectations, and the support system available within the department.

The third day featured an engaging guest session on “Setting SMART Goals: Wise Career Choice” by Mr. Bimal Kandel, Founder and Managing Director at FroxJob. This session aimed to guide students in making informed and strategic decisions regarding their academic and professional paths. He encouraged students to reflect on their own strengths and interests when considering potential career paths. 

The fourth day session continued with an empowering guest session on “Leadership Training” featuring Miss Bambie Gadon Panta. This session aimed to instill leadership skills and inspire students to become effective leaders in their academic and professional journeys. Miss Bambie Gadon Panta provided a comprehensive understanding of leadership, emphasizing that leadership goes beyond authority and involves guiding and inspiring others. The day continued with a significant session led by Mr. Subodh Subedi, the BHM Coordinator. This session aimed to provide BHM students with insights into the structure of the program, academic expectations, and the unique aspects of the hospitality management field.

The fifth day of the BBA/BHM Induction Session at [Institution Name] featured insightful guest sessions by Ms. Shradha Neupane, Assistant HR of Neoteric from Golcha Group of Companies, focusing on the latest hiring trends in the corporate world. The day continued with another engaging session on “Entrepreneurship” by Mr. Santosh Pandey. Ms. Shradha Neupane provided an overview of the current hiring landscape in the corporate world and discussed the importance of staying updated on industry trends and acquiring in-demand skills. Mr. Santosh Pandey introduced the concept of entrepreneurship, emphasizing the qualities and mindset of successful entrepreneurs. He shared strategies for identifying business opportunities and gaps in the market and encouraged students to think creatively and critically about potential entrepreneurial ventures.

The BBA/BHM Induction Program aimed to acclimate new students to the academic environment, introduce them to departmental coordinators, and provide valuable insights into program structures, expectations, and industry trends. Students gained a comprehensive understanding of the BBA and BHM programs. Students got information on internships, practical training, and industry exposure which is integrated into the curriculum. The program’s outcomes aim to empower students to make informed decisions, actively engage in their education, and prepare for future challenges and opportunities.
