Shubhashree Young Mixologist 2024, a Bartending Competition

The Hotel Management department of Shubhashree College of Management organized a very first of a kind Bartending competition entitled “Young Mixologist Competition” within the college premises (Training restaurant) for the current BHM 4th and 5th semester students. The objective of the competition was to judge and evalu ate students theoretical and practical knowledge and skills associated in production and deliverance of the fantastic mixed drinks with ideas. The competition was a clash of mixologists from 4th semester vs 5th semester on 22nd January 2024. 

Eighteen (18) students actively participated in event from 2 different semesters.  During the event member of 3 each consisting groups were divided in such a way that Group A from 4th semester has to go against Group A of 5th Semester for rounds. For the first round all Group A, B and C were set to go against other group of another semester with a cocktail of their choice and with proper explanations and story.

Second round took place after the elimination of 2 groups from each semester where they were set to prepare a mocktail as instructed by one of the judges. 

As a final round after the elimination final group of 4th semester had to go against the 5th semester group. Were a signature cocktail and unique preparation was the declaration factor in which 5th semester group stood excellent above the other with their unique combination and plain simple explanation and right use of ingredients. Three hours of interactive and competitive session had key judges Mr. Bed Panta from Elite Bartenders Academy, Mr. Shreejan K.C (Food and Beverage instructor) and BHM Coordinator Mr. Subodh Subedi. Final thoughts and winners declaration followed by certificate distribution was carried out by BHM Coordinator himself on behalf of the management team of SCM. The declared winners were the team of 5th semester students Bishal Devkota, Pradip B.K. and Rikesh Thapa Magar.
