Shubhashree College of Management organized a book donation drive, conducted by the Community Club students, with the aim of collecting money to donate books for underprivileged students through UWS Nepal and Kitab Bazar. The main objective was to empower underprivileged students through the gift of knowledge, enabling them to enhance their academic and personal development. It also aimed to cultivate a culture of reading and learning within the community, encouraging students to appreciate the value of education and knowledge. It further instilled a sense of social responsibility among students, encouraging them to actively participate in initiatives that contribute to the welfare of society. Lastly it was conducted to create a lasting impact on the lives of the underprivileged students, aiming for a positive ripple effect on their educational journey and future prospects.

Students learnt about the educational challenges faced by underprivileged students and gained a deeper understanding of social issues within their community. The experience fostered empathy as students connected with the needs of underprivileged students, cultivating a sense of compassion for those facing educational disadvantages. Organizing a book donation drive involved collaboration and teamwork. Students learnt the importance of working together towards a shared goal, managing tasks, and leveraging each other’s strengths. Students enhanced their communication skills by promoting the book donation drive, explaining its purpose and encouraging participation among their peers and the wider community. Collecting money and coordinating with organizations like UWS Nepal and Kitab Bazar required resource management skills. Students learnt to allocate funds efficiently and ensure the optimal use of resources. These lessons go beyond academic knowledge, providing students with practical skills, values, and perspectives that contribute to their holistic development as socially responsible and empathetic individuals.

Students developed a heightened awareness of social issues, fostering empathy for the challenges faced by underprivileged students in accessing education. Participating in philanthropic activities reinforced a sense of social responsibility among students, encouraging them to contribute positively to their community. Engaging in promotional activities for the donation drive honed students’ communication skills, including public speaking, writing, and effective interpersonal communication. Interacting with diverse communities and organizations like UWS Nepal and Kitab Bazar fostered cultural sensitivity and community engagement, broadening students’ perspectives. In the process of collecting funds and donating books, students may gain a deeper appreciation for the value of education and its transformative impact on individuals and communities. The event was covered by three large media houses in Nepal, Nepal Samaya, Note bazar and República Nepal.
