Guest Session on Basic Hygiene and Sanitation

BHM section of Shubhashree College of Management organized a guest lecture and interaction session on 11th Ashar for BHM 2nd semester students. The health and hygiene related session was to cover the topic of “Basic Hygiene and Sanitation”. The practices been going on in our homes and in work culture.

The discussion and interaction session was initiated by faculty Yogendra Dhungel and the guest lecture Dr. Santosh Dhakal. During the program the guest mainly highlighted the  Food Inspection System in Nepal (Focus on Hotel and Restaurant Inspection).

In the program the guest also heighted his career perspective in different sector like food safety where he shared hi story on his journey to PhD (2016) degrees in Food Science & Technology from the Ohio State University, USA.  And also how he returned back to Nepal and joined as Food Research Officer in the Department of Food Technology & Quality Control, Nepal, in 2017.

Dr. Dhakal being a food expert in food safety he further discussed the part and role of U.S. FDA, certification and several training modules of food safety as GMP, HACCP, risk communication, food quality and safety inspection, certification, and enforcing food regulations.

An hour session came to an end along with QnA session from students and thanks giving from BHM coordinator to guest lecturer. To conclude with, BHM coordinator shared his thoughts and necessity of hygiene and sanitation in industry and why it matters most to reflect quality of a company.
